MOVE TO THE LOVE

The African Bass Almanac.
THE FIRST RELEASE ON POST NO BILL COMPILATION After a year of travelling and playing across cities and towns throughout Ghana and Europe, K.O.G Soundsystem teams up with producer and DJ, Burland, to unearth The African Bass Almanac.
A compilation of stories welded together through bass and dance. A record of migration, movement, and the impact of cultures meeting, sharing and influencing one another. This is POST NO BILL.
POST NO BILL is a multilayered production project built around the vibrant soundscapes of markets, funerals and the melting pot of sounds and influences found along the way. At its heart is collaboration, bringing together soundscape engineers, instrumentalists and artists across cultures, communities and spaces.
The first release from POST NO BILL is ‘Move to the Love’, featuring soundsystem royalty Aziza Jaye.
Centred around the act of moving, both mentally and physically, the track explores shifting negative energy and creating space for love, connection and hospitality. The stories gathered along the way reflect the profound impact of migration and travel on the people, places and sounds we encounter. Released during World Refugee Week, ‘Move to the Love’ shines a light on the realities of migration and the journeys that bring us together.
Bringing the track to life are the live, sparkling sounds of Owen Burns on bass, Ben Haskins on guitar, Theo Goss on drums and Felix Burling on trumpet.
‘Move to the Love’ lands on Bandcamp on 16 October.
Keep the love moving!
Huge thanks to Top Shelf Audio for mastering and Bay Jemima for the artwork.
