The Agege Show

For many of us who have followed Kweku Sackey — the creative force of K.O.G — his music has always spoken volumes. It carries rhythm, soul, community history, and a sense of deep connection with listeners. Now, Kweku is stepping into a new space of expression: the world of radio.

Every other Tuesday at 7pm (till late), Kweku hosts a show on African Voices Radio, a broadcast platform with a mission to centre African stories, perspectives and creativity. This isn’t just a playlist — it’s a space where music meets conversation, and where culture is shared honestly and with heart.

A Platform with Purpose

African Voices Platform began in 2018 with a vision to create media that tells African stories authentically — on TV, online and now on radio — by Africans and people of African descent. The radio station broadcasts on DAB and online, bringing rich, diverse content to listeners in South Yorkshire and beyond, highlighting music, community dialogue, social issues and cultural celebration.

This context makes Kweku’s involvement especially exciting. His show is part of a larger effort to amplify creative voices, spark thoughtful exchange, and uplift community narratives that are often overlooked.

What to Expect On Air

When Kweku steps up to the mic, listeners are in for more than just great music. His show blends:

  • Curated tracks that reflect both African and global influences

  • Live conversations about culture, creativity and community

  • Stories behind the music — inviting listeners deeper into the meaning and roots of sound

  • Guest interviews with artists, thinkers and change-makers

Because African Voices Radio is committed to exploring culture and identity alongside music, Kweku’s show has the freedom to flow — from spirited Afrobeat and highlife to thoughtful dialogue that connects listeners across continents.

Why This Matters

For Kweku, radio offers a new canvas. It’s a chance to:

  • Reach listeners in a more personal way, beyond the stage or recording studio

  • Share insights about music, life and culture that don’t always fit in a song

  • Lift up other creatives and voices and connect them to a wider audience

  • Be part of a community-driven media project that places African experience at the centre

It’s one thing to make music that people hear. It’s another to create a space where people feel heard — and Kweku’s show does both.
